The Single Mom KC - Gift Bag Packing

Indoor Families
Support and encourage local single moms by helping assemble gift bags and other giveaway items that will be distributed through The Single Mom KC. Volunteers will work together to organize, pack, and prepare items that help bless and support single mothers in our community.

Requirements

Sorting and organizing items, assembling gift bags, and carrying light materials.

Lakewood Elementary School

Indoor Outdoor Families
Help prepare a local school for the upcoming school year by assisting with a variety of beautification and welcome-back projects. Volunteers may help weed and maintain garden areas, assemble and hang classroom door posters, install welcome-back bulletin boards, and refresh the teachers' lounge. These projects will help create a welcoming environment for students, teachers, and staff as they return to school.

Requirements

Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working both indoors and outdoors. Volunteers should be comfortable performing light to moderate physical tasks such as gardening, decorating, organizing, and hanging materials.

Lakewood Middle School

Indoor Outdoor Families
Help prepare Lakewood Middle School for the upcoming school year by assisting with outdoor beautification and classroom preparation projects. Volunteers may help clean and improve outdoor spaces, organize classrooms, decorate learning environments, and complete other tasks that help create a welcoming atmosphere for students and staff.

Requirements

Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting light to moderate materials, and working both indoors and outdoors. Volunteers should be comfortable performing general cleanup, organizing, and light setup tasks.

Oil Change Service for Single Moms - Legacy Blue Valley

Outdoor Adults
Julien Whitaker and team will be providing free oil changes for pre-selected people in the community. Advertised through TSMKC. We will also have a team volunteering to wash and detail the cars after.

Requirements

Volunteers serving on the oil change team should be comfortable working around vehicles and following the direction of experienced team leaders. Volunteers serving on the car wash team should be comfortable performing hands-on tasks such as washing vehicles, carrying supplies, and possibly assisting with automotive service activities.

Outdoor Classroom Cleanup & Painting - Sunset Ridge Elementary

Outdoor Families
Help prepare Sunset Ridge Elementary for the upcoming school year by beautifying outdoor spaces and refreshing the school's outdoor classroom. Volunteers may assist with cleaning outdoor areas, maintaining flower beds, and repainting trail and walkway markings to create a welcoming environment for students and staff.

Requirements

Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working outdoors for extended periods. Volunteers should be comfortable performing light to moderate landscaping tasks and using paint brushes or rollers for outdoor painting projects.

Park Cleanup & Improvements - Brittany Park

Outdoor Families
Help care for Brittany Park through cleanup and beautification projects that improve the experience for families and visitors. Volunteers will assist with trash pickup, spreading mulch in playground areas, and maintaining the sand volleyball court through raking and weed removal.

Requirements

Walking, bending, kneeling, raking, lifting bags of mulch, and working outdoors for extended periods.

Stanley Elementary School

Indoor organization projects prepping for the new school year. These projects may include moving things around. Outdoor cleaning, gardening, weeding support.

Requirements

Moving items indoors and yard work outside.

Organizing school supplies for Foster Kids, done at the Blue Valley Campus.

Shed Roof Repair & Property Cleanup - Firm Foundations

Outdoor Adults
Support the ministry Firm Foundations Ministry by helping improve a property that provides housing and support for men rebuilding their lives after incarceration. Volunteers will assist with repairing a shed roof, cleaning up the property, and completing other outdoor maintenance projects that help create a safe and welcoming environment for residents.

Requirements

Walking on uneven ground, bending, reaching, lifting moderate to heavy materials, using hand tools, and working outdoors for extended periods. Some tasks may involve climbing a ladder and assisting with basic repair work.
